Shaky Bridge Pioneer Series
Pioneer Series is our delicious entry point to Shaky Bridge Wines. These wines are 'consumer friendly' from the tasting profile all the way to the price. First released in 2008, our Pioneer Series wines have gained a loyal and very happy following!
The majority of fruit for these wines comes from the Pioneer Vineyard on Dunstan Rd. Definitively, not only does Pioneer relate to early settlers of a region, it also means to lead the way; to trailblaze. Pioneer is a fitting brand extension of our Shaky Bridge label, given the pioneering visions of Bill and Gill Grant who among the first to plant vines in Central Otago nearly 40 years ago. Our Home Block continues to produce fruit from these vines.
The Shaky Bridge Brand Family
Shaky Bridge Wines has a dynamic, diversified portfolio of high quality wines at different price points. We deliver exceptional value for money in all of our wines. While this sounds like a simple philosophy, we go to great lengths to ensure every bottle of wine we produce will meet your expectations of quality for the price you have paid.
Situated in the southern most wine growing region in the world, the Alexandra Basin of Central Otago, every Shaky Bridge vintage is greatly influenced by the growing conditions during the year. As much as we try to get the very best out of every vineyard block we manage, mother nature can work against us from time to time. Due to the natural impact of weather on our vines and the grapes harvested, our portfolio of wines allows us to ensure the highest quality in each brand tier.
Only our very best fruit is used in our Artisan Series wines, while any grapes not reserved for the Artisan Series are used in our Devils Backbone or Pioneer Series wines. Our new 'BBQ Wine Co.' label is reserved for wines we want you to have a bit of fun with! Our BBQ White 2010 blend of Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Chardonnay is a delicious example of what we mean! Sometimes you just want a tasty glass of wine that doesn't cost too much; that's when you reach for wine from the BBQ Wine Co.
